<span style="font-family: Verdana;">THIS IS US!</span><o:p></o:p></div>

to an analysis of census data released Monday.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></span><o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in
some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting
ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a
little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once
were. We worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and have grown old
together.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12pt;">Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably
true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need
to be taken into consideration.</span><span class="apple-converted-space" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12pt;"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">In school we studied English, history, math, and science, which enabled us to
lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what
outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of
telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to
our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they
are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when
cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there
are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off.
We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote The
Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We
wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the
battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America; we
fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.†We wore
different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star
Spangled Banner, America , and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even
see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what
many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to
apologize to anyone for America .</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good
fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for
it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is
going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against
all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep.
There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders,
there is no way we are going to remain silent.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the
Democratic Congress. You fell for the "Hope and Change" which
in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies." You youngsters have
tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it
after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their
careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be involved in such
mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the
"Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all
the education we gave you, you didn't have sense enough to see through the lies
and instead drank the 'Kool-Aid'. Now you're paying the price and
complaining about it; no jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, insane student
loans, and less freedom.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted
you with the Torch of Liberty, and you traded it for a paltry paycheck, cool
wheels, and a fancy house.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2016 we
are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you
would like, but we get where we're going, and in 2016 we went to the polls by
the millions. This land does not belong to the Islamic in the White House
nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Van Jones, Dick Durban, and Eric
Holder. America belongs to "We the People," and "We the
People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time
you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to your
grandchildren. So the next time you have the honor to say the Pledge of
Allegiance, get off your ass, stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor
your country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Gray-Haired
Brigade." Without them you wouldn't even be here.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Footnote: This is spot on. I am another Gray-Haired Geezer signing
on. I will circulate this to other Gray-Haired Geezers all over this once
great county. And remember you are dancing on the stage that we the Gray-Haired
Geezers built. Cherish and protect this as we have and never forget to respect
the country that gave you life.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><i>Willie P</i></span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">In 1892 at _Stanford University_ , an 18-year-old student was struggling to pay his fees. He was an orphan, and not knowing where to turn for money, he came up with a bright idea. He and a friend decided to host a musical concert on campus to raise money for their education.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">They reached out to the great pianist *Ignacy J. Paderewski*. His manager demanded a guaranteed fee of $2000 for the piano recital. A deal was struck and the boys began to work to make the concert a success.</span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">The big day arrived. But unfortunately, they had not managed to sell enough tickets. The total collection was only $1600. Disappointed, they went to *Paderewski* and explained their plight. They gave him the entire $1600, plus a cheque for the balance $400. They promised to honour the cheque at the soonest possible.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">“No,” said *Paderewski*. “This is not acceptable.” He tore up the cheque, returned the $1600 and told the two boys: “Here’s the $1600. Please deduct whatever expenses you have incurred. Keep the money you need for your fees. And just give me whatever is left”. The boys were surprised, and thanked him profusely.</span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">It was a small act of kindness. But it clearly marked out *Paderewski* as a great human being.</span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">Why should he help two people he did not even know? We all come across situations like these in our lives. And most of us only think “If I help them, what would happen to me?” The truly great people think, “If I don’t help them, what will happen to them?” They don’t do it expecting something in return. They do it because they feel it’s the right thing to do.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">*Paderewski* later went on to become the *Prime Minister of Poland*. He was a great leader, but unfortunately when the *World War* began, *Poland* was ravaged. There were more than _1.5 million people starving in his country, and no money to feed them_ . *Paderewski* did not know where to turn for help. He reached out to the *US Food and Relief Administration* for help.</span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">He heard there was a man called *Herbert Hoover* — who later went on to become the *US President*. *Hoover* agreed to help and quickly shipped tons of food grains to feed the starving *Polish* people.</span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">_A calamity was averted_ .*Paderewski* was relieved.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">He decided to go across to meet *Hoover* and personally thank him. When *Paderewski* began to thank *Hoover* for his _noble gesture_ *Hoover* quickly interjected and said, " *You shouldn’t be thanking me Mr. Prime Minister. You may not remember this, but several years ago, you helped two young students go through college. I was one of them* .”</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">_The world is a wonderful place. What goes around comes around. Please help others to the best of your ability. In the long run you may be helping yourself. God never forgets anyone who sows a good seed in other people, never_ . </span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"></span><br /></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1">Nothing in nature lives for itself. Rivers don't drink their own water. Trees don't eat their own fruit. Sun doesn't give heat for itself. Flowers don't spread fragrance for themselves. Living for others is the rule of nature. And therein lies the secret of living* .</span></div>

Canada to Build Wall on its Southern Border!</div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">The flood of Trump-fearing American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week. The Republican presidential campaign is prompting an exodus among left-leaning Americans who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, pay taxes, and live according to the Constitution. Canadian border residents say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, global-warming activists, and "green" energy proponents crossing their fields at night.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">"I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota . "He was cold, exhausted and hungry, and begged me for a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields, but they just stuck their fingers in their ears and kept coming.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals just south of the border, pack them into electric cars, and drive them across the border, where they are simply left to fend for themselves after the battery dies. "A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Alberta border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle of Perrier water, or any gemelli with shrimp and arugula. All they had was a nice little Napa Valley cabernet and some kale chips. When liberals are caught,they're sent back across the border, often wailing that they fear persecution from Trump high-hairers.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">Rumors are circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer, study the Constitution, and find jobs that actually contribute to the economy.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in blue-hair wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage, are buying up all the Barbara Streisand CD's, and are overloading the internet while downloading jazzercise apps to their cell phones. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "After all, how many art-history majors does one country need?”</span></div>

Amos shot and killed a young minority male and was given paid leave. </span>He is exactly the type of police officer that Kaepernick spoke about when he said, “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.” However, Amos decided to show Kaepernick something that the NFL player didn’t know: that they were more alike than he realized.</span></div>

<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"><i><span style="font-size: large;">Dear Colin guess you have been pretty busy these last few days. For the record I don’t think any more or less of you for not standing for the national anthem. Honestly, I never thought that much about you, or any professional athlete for that matter, to begin with. I’ve read your statement a few times and want you to know I am one of the reasons you are protesting. You see I am a retired police officer that had the misfortune of having to shoot and kill a 19-year-old African-American male. And just like you said, I was the recipient of about $3,000 a month while on leave, which was a good thing because I had to support a wife and three children under 7 years old for about 2 months with that money. Things were pretty tight because I couldn’t work part-time. Every police officer I’ve ever known has worked part-time to help make ends meet.</span></i></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"><i><span style="font-size: large;">You know, Colin, the more I think about it, the more we seem to have in common. I really pushed myself in rehab to get back on the street, kind of like you do to get back on the field. You probably have had a broken bone or two and some muscle strains and deep bruising that needed a lot of work. I just had to bounce back from a gunshot wound to the chest and thigh. Good thing we both get paid when we are too banged up to “play,” huh? We both also know what it’s like to get blindsided. You by a 280-pound defensive end, ouch! Me, by a couple of rounds fired from a gun about 2 feet away into my chest and thigh. We also both make our living wearing uniforms, right? You have probably ruined a jersey or two on the field of play. I still have my blood-stained shirt that my partner and paramedics literally ripped off my back that cold night in January. Fortunately, like you I was given a new one. Speaking of paramedics aren’t you glad the second we get hurt trainers and doctors are standing by waiting to rush onto the field to scoop us up. I’m thankful they get to you in seconds. It only took them about 10 minutes to get to me. By the grace of God, the artery in my thigh didn’t rupture or else 10 minutes would have been about 9 minutes too late. We also have both experienced the hate and disgust others have just because of those uniforms we wear. I sure am glad for your sake that the folks who wear my uniform are on hand to escort you and those folks that wear your uniform into stadiums in places like Seattle!</span></i></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"><i><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></i></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;"><i>I guess that’s where the similarities end, Colin. You entertain for a living, I and almost 800,000 others across this country serve and protect. Are there some bad apples within my profession? Absolutely, and they need to be identified and fired or arrested! But you know what, the </i><a href="http://conservativetribune.com/police-officer-left-in-tears/"><span class="s2"><i>vast majority </i></span></a><i>do the right thing, the right way, for the right reason. Did I mention that seconds before I was shot, an elderly African-American gentleman walking down the sidewalk, turned to my partner and I as we rode past and said, “Get them.” Get who, you ask? The thugs terrorizing an otherwise good and decent neighborhood, home to dozens of good, decent African-American families trying to raise those families in communities not protected by gates and security guards. No these folks and families depend on America’s law enforcement officers.</i></span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"><i><span style="font-size: large;">Colin, I have buried 7 friends killed in the line of duty and three others who have committed suicide. I have attended more funerals than I care to remember of neighboring departments who have lost officers in the line of duty, during my career. Law enforcement oficers with different backgrounds, upbringings and experiences united by their willingness to answer the call to protect and serve their fellow citizens.</span></i></span></div>

<span class="s1"><i><span style="font-size: large;">Colin, I am sorry for the endorsement deals you may lose and the dip in jersey sales, but please know you will NEVER lose what these men and women and their families have lost. And so whether you stand or sit during the national anthem means very little to me. As for me and the men and women on whose team I was privileged to serve, we will put on our ballistic vests, badge and gun, kiss our loved ones goodbye, for some tragically for the last time, and out into a shift of uncertainty we will go. We will continue to protect and continue to serve and we will be standing at attention, Colin, not just for the playing of our national anthem, but far more importantly for the playing of Taps.</span></i></span></div>

never that high—except perhaps in the pages of Gibbon. Conservative

that America is in “crisis.” But how great is the crisis? Can things really be

politic. Illegitimacy. Crime. Massive, expensive, intrusive, out-of-control
government. Politically correct McCarthyism. Ever-higher taxes and
ever-deteriorating services and infrastructure. Inability to win wars against
tribal, sub-Third-World foes. A disastrously awful educational system that
churns out kids who don’t know anything and, at the primary and secondary
levels, can’t (or won’t) discipline disruptive punks, and at the higher levels
saddles students with six figure debts for the privilege. And so on and
drearily on. Like that portion of the mass where the priest asks for your

conferences, fellowships, and such, complaining about this, that, the other,

renewal” would do a lot of course, but that’s like saying health will save a
cancer patient. A step has been skipped in there somewhere. How are we going to
<i>achieve</i> “civic renewal”?</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 13.0pt;"> </span><b><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 16.0pt;">Wishing for a tautology to enact

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Continetti trips over a
more promising approach when he writes of “stress[ing] the ‘national interest
abroad and national solidarity at home’ through foreign-policy retrenchment,
‘support to workers buffeted by globalization,’ and setting ‘tax rates and
immigration levels’ to foster social cohesion." That sounds a lot like
Trumpism. But the phrases that Continetti quotes are taken from Ross Douthat
and Reihan Salam, both of whom, like Continetti, are vociferously—one might
even say fanatically—anti-Trump. At least they, unlike Kesler, give Trump
credit for having identified the right stance on today’s most salient issues.
Yet, paradoxically, they won’t vote for Trump whereas Kesler hints that he
will. It’s reasonable, then, to read into Kesler’s esoteric endorsement of
Trump an implicit acknowledgment that the crisis is, indeed, pretty dire. I
expect a Claremont scholar to be wiser than most other conservative
intellectuals, and I am relieved not to be disappointed in this instance.</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "arial"; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

Here our ideas sit, waiting to be implemented! To which I reply: eh, not
really. <b>Many conservative solutions—above all welfare reform and crime
control—<i>have</i> been tried, and proved effective, but have nonetheless

early ’90s peak—but way, way up from the historic American norm that ended when
liberals took over criminal justice in the mid-’60s. And it’s rising fast
today, in the teeth of ineffectual conservative complaints. And what has this

vindictive persecution against resistance and dissent hitherto seen in the
supposedly liberal West only in the most “advanced” Scandinavian countries and
the most leftist corners of Germany and England. We see this already in the
censorship practiced by the Davoisie’s social media enablers; in <b>the

Justice Warriors.</b> We see it in Obama’s flagrant use of the IRS to torment

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">It’s also why they treat
open borders as the “absolute value,” the one “principle” that—when their
“principles” collide—they prioritize above all the others. If <i>that</i> fact
is insufficiently clear, consider this. Trump is the most liberal Republican
nominee since Thomas Dewey. He departs from conservative orthodoxy in so many
ways that <i>National Review</i> still hasn’t stopped counting. But let’s stick
to just the core issues animating his campaign. On trade, globalization, and
war, Trump is to the left (conventionally understood) not only of his own
party, but of his Democratic opponent. And yet the Left and the junta are at
one with the house-broken conservatives in their determination—desperation—not
merely to defeat Trump but to destroy him. What gives?</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "arial"; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Oh, right—there’s</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 13.0pt;"> </span><b><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14.0pt;">that <i>other</i>
issue. <i><u style="text-underline: #1A1A1A;">The sacredness of mass immigration
is the mystic chord that unites America’s ruling and intellectual classes</u></i>.</span></b><b><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 13.0pt;"> <o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Their reasons vary
somewhat. The Left and the Democrats seek ringers to form a permanent electoral
majority. They, or many of them, also believe the academic-intellectual lie
that <b>America’s inherently racist and evil nature can be expiated only
through ever greater “diversity.”</b> The junta of course craves cheaper and
more docile labor. It also seeks to legitimize, and deflect unwanted attention
from, its wealth and power by pretending that its open borders stance is a form
of <i>noblesse oblige</i>. The Republicans and the “conservatives”? Both of
course desperately want absolution from the charge of “racism.” For the latter,
this at least makes some sense. No Washington General can take the court—much
less cash his check—with that epithet dancing over his head like some Satanic
Spirit. But for the former, this priestly grace comes at the direct expense of
their worldly interests. Do they honestly believe that the right enterprise
zone or charter school policy will arouse 50.01% of our newer voters to finally
reveal their “natural conservatism” at the ballot box? It hasn’t happened
anywhere yet and shows no signs that it ever will. But that doesn’t stop the
Republican refrain: more, more, more! No matter how many elections they lose,
how many districts tip forever blue, how rarely (if ever) their immigrant vote
cracks 40%, the answer is always the same. </span><b><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 16.0pt;">Just
like Angela Merkel after yet another rape, shooting, bombing, or machete

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Trump, alone among
candidates for high office in this or in the last seven (at least) cycles, has
stood up to say: I want to live. I want my party to live. I want my country to

<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Yes, Trump is worse than
imperfect. So what? We can lament until we choke the lack of a great statesman
to address the fundamental issues of our time—or, more importantly, to connect
them. Since Pat Buchanan’s three failures, occasionally a candidate arose who
saw one piece: Dick Gephardt on trade, Ron Paul on war, Tom Tancredo on
immigration. Yet, among recent political figures—great statesmen, dangerous
demagogues, and mewling gnats alike—only Trump-the-alleged-buffoon not merely
saw all three and their essential connectivity, <i>but was able to win on them</i>.
</span><b><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; font-size: 14.0pt;">The alleged buffoon is thus

<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Free trade was
unquestionably a great boon to the American worker in the decades after World
War II. We long ago passed the point of diminishing returns. The Gulf War of
1991 was a strategic victory for American interests. No conflict since then has
been. Conservatives either can’t see this—or, worse, those who can nonetheless
treat the only political leader to mount a serious challenge to the status quo </span><b><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 16.0pt;">(more immigration, more trade, more war) </span></b><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">as a unique evil.</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "arial"; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Trump’s vulgarity is in
fact a godsend to the conservatives. It allows them to hang their public
opposition on his obvious shortcomings and to ignore or downplay his far
greater strengths, which should be even more obvious but in corrupt times can
be deliberately obscured by constant references to his faults. That the Left
would make the campaign all about the latter is to be expected. Why would the
Right? Some—a few—are no doubt sincere in their belief that the man is simply
unfit for high office. David Frum, who has always been an immigration skeptic
and is a convert to the less-war position, is sincere when he says that, even
though he agrees with much of Trump’s agenda, he cannot stomach Trump. But for
most of the other #NeverTrumpers, is it just a coincidence that they also
happen to favor Invade the World, Invite the World?</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "arial"; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">Another question <i>JAG</i>
raised without provoking any serious attempt at refutation was whether, in
corrupt times, it took a … let’s say ... “loudmouth” to rise above the din of
The Megaphone. We, or I, speculated: “yes.” Suppose there had arisen some
statesman of high character—dignified, articulate, experienced,
knowledgeable—the exact opposite of everything the conservatives claim to hate
about Trump. Could this hypothetical paragon have won on Trump’s same issues?
Would the conservatives have supported him? I would have—even had he been a
Democrat.</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "arial"; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

flight of fancy at least addresses what to do now. The answer to the subsidiary
question—will it work?—is much less clear. By “it” I mean Trumpism, broadly defined

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "georgia"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">By contrast, simply
building a wall and enforcing immigration law will help enormously, by cutting
off the flood of newcomers that perpetuates ethnic separatism and by
incentivizing the English language and American norms in the workplace. These
policies will have the added benefit of aligning the economic interests of, and
(we may hope) fostering solidarity among, the working, lower middle, and middle
classes of all races and ethnicities. The same can be said for Trumpian trade policies
and anti-globalization instincts. Who cares if productivity numbers tick down,
or if our already somnambulant GDP sinks a bit further into its pillow? Nearly
all the gains of the last 20 years have accrued to the junta anyway. It would,
at this point, be better for the nation to divide up more equitably a slightly
smaller pie than to add one extra slice—only to ensure that it and eight of the
other nine go first to the government and its rentiers, and the rest to the
same four industries and 200 families.</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "arial"; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

threat she poses, but somehow can’t stomach him, have you thought about the
longer term? The possibilities would seem to be: Caesarism, secession/crack-up,
collapse, or managerial Davoisie liberalism as far as the eye can see … which, since
nothing human lasts forever, at some point will give way to one of the other
three. Oh, and, I suppose, for those who like to pour a tall one and dream big,
a second American Revolution that restores Constitutionalism, limited
government, and a 28% top marginal rate.</span><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: "arial"; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

You think you have lived to be 80 plus and know who you are, then along comes someone and blows it all to hell! </div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">
<br />
An old Marine Pilot sat down at the Starbucks, still wearing his old USMC flight jacket and ordered a cup of coffee. </span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"><br />
As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him. She turned to the pilot and asked,</span><span class="s2"> '</span><span class="s1">Are you a real pilot?</span><span class="s2">'</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1"><br />
He replied, 'Well, I've spent my whole life flying planes, first Stearmans, then the early Grummans.... flew a Wildcat and Corsair in WWII, and later in the Korean conflict, Banshees and Cougars. I've taught more than 260 people to fly and given rides to hundreds, so I guess I am a pilot, and you, what are you?</span><span class="s2">'</span></div>
<div class="p3">
<br /></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">She said, 'I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about naked women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about naked women. When I shower, I think about naked women. When I watch TV, I think about naked women. It seems everything makes me think of naked women.'<br />
</span></div>
<br />
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">The two sat sipping in silence. <br /><br />
</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">A little while later, a young man sat down on the other side of the old pilot and asked:"Are you a real pilot?" <br /><br />
</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span class="s1">He replied, 'I always thought I was, but I just found out I'm a lesbian.'</span></div>

He had joined in 1955, as soon as he and his young wife and their infant daughter had moved into the little house on County Route 3. Since the house was literally next to the fire station, he was invariably the first to respond when the siren went off.</span></div>

At 85, Fred no longer had the strength and speed of a young man; it had been at least a dozen years since he could suit up to actively battle fires. But he could still pull on his boots, which were always waiting by the kitchen door; he could still reach the fire hall before anyone else; and he could still make sure the station bay doors were unlocked and the exits cleared so that as firefighters arrived, they could get the trucks and equipment moving without a moment's loss.</span></div>

<span class="s1">As he reached the steps leading from his porch down to the driveway, he momentarily blacked out — a new medicine had been giving him vertigo — and fell heavily, face first, onto the pavement. The damage was massive. Fred lapsed into a coma as an ambulance, operated by first responders he'd known and worked with for years, rushed him to a helicopter so he could be airlifted to the Syracuse Medical Center. But there was no hope of saving him. He never recovered consciousness and died the next day.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1">Conundrum </span>: Something that is puzzling or confusing.</span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">For example . . .</span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>

<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">"Free people are not equal. Equal people are not free." (think this one over)</span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">"A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half the population is subsidized.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>

<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">2. Half the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">Think it over. And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century. Makes you wonder who is doing the math.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">These three short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering:</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;"> 2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money! What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">Think about it . . . and last but not least:</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;"> 3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military, and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">Am I the only one missing something??</span></span></div>
<div class="p2">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="s1"></span><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-size: large;">"If you do not take an interest in the affairs of your government, then you are doomed to live under the rule of fools." ~ Plato</span></span></div>

<div class="p1">

<span class="s1">In Chaos Theory, the "butterfly effect"</span><span class="s2"> </span><span class="s1">is the name given to the sensitive connection between initial conditions in which an insignificant event in one state in non-linear systems, can result in sometimes catastrophic events in the universal state.</span></div>

<span class="s1">In other words, although unlikely, it is possible for a butterfly flapping its wings in Texas to cause a typhoon in the Japanese Sea.</span></div>

<span class="s1">Case in point: in mid-20th Century America, a loose 18-year-old hippie female in a Honolulu college had sex with an older, alcoholic Kenyan man on a student visa, who had a wife and child back in Africa. And this less than significant event started the collapse and dissolution of the United States of America.</span></div>
